Special Effects

TRUE TO THE SPIRIT OF THIS MOVIE, EVERYTHING IS going to be DONE OLD SCHOOL. SPACESHIPS ARE REAL MODELS, EXPLOSIONS ARE PYROTECHNICS, MONSTERS ARE MADE OF LATEX AND GIANT BOULDERS ARE OF COURSE PAPIER MACHE. SOME OF THE MOST AMAZING EFFECTS PEOPLE IN THE COUNTRY are going to be working on this movie.

Dean Reynolds, an award winning model maker from Weta Workshop is designing and building all the model spaceships for the film. His commitment is astounding. The CGI and editing team include two more people from Weta and are overseen by Effects Supervisor Thrain Shadbolt. His experience is vast and includes such films as Avatar, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, V for Vendetta, The Golden Compass, and Tintin. With people like these we are blessed with an abundance of talent.

The props and sets will be made out of anything we can find having an emphasis on found or recognisable objects. One man’s junk is another man’s Magnetic Laser Retractor. We will have fun making all the fantastic things we use and see in our movie. Despite our strong team, We will refrain from using CGI to create things, instead using it to make our old school techniques work. The space battles, giant monsters, flying speeders, laser wars and everything else are made to look like they are made in 1974 not 2012.
